We’re getting in touch as you’ve booked candidates for exams over the last year and wanted to reassure you that we are doing everything we can to ensure exams can continue for the forthcoming summer. Please do continue to make bookings as normal for those students who you feel will be ready by the summer using the online portal here and we will be able to keep you up-to-date with any changes as and when they arise. The public exam period is currently scheduled to run from May - end July 2020, with the deadline for entries coming up on 3rd April 2020. All the information relating to dates and fees can be found here and the location of your nearest centre can be found here. Please do contact our exams team on 0345 460 4747 for more information.
If you are concerned about the potential disruption to tuition caused by Coronavirus, please do look at the advice posted by our friends at the ISM here and, while we cannot make any specific recommendation here, we’re aware that many people are exploring online lessons as a temporary measure should this be appropriate.
We’d also recommend that you check you have opted in for updates via your Teacher Registry profile so we can send you further advice and guidance around working and teaching from home.
To support your students in between their lessons, we’d recommend they download our Practice with Purpose Diary available for FREE here so they can keep track of their progress.
We’re also offering 25% off Replay, so they can maximise their independent learning time. This is currently available for Piano, Keys, Drums, Acoustic and Electric Guitar and more information can be found here.
If you have students who are unsure about entering for an exam, they may find this short video helpful which has been prepared by our examiners who always do their very best to try and make the process as stress-free as possible. After all, we hope that the exam is simply a way of gaining certification for the excellent work they’ve already been doing. Please do also remember that Rockschool exams are a great way of proving the level of skill they have on their instrument and that, at grades 6 – 8, you can achieve up to 30 UCAS points which are really helpful for university applications.
We’d like to thank you for your ongoing support of RSL Awards and would like to wish you well as you support your students through their practice. Please do keep in touch and stay safe.
