At I-Play Music, we pride ourselves on teaching you how to perform your music with passion and to develop confidence and build on skills that can be transferrable in real life situations.
As you know, RSL Exams are scheduled for this term. They have announced the launch of their Video Exams and we will be playing a vital role in working alongside them and to continue entering our students as usual. This is the first time that we will be doing this and I must say, I welcome this new era.
This year, and with your participation, we are trusting ourselves to deliver good quality video recordings to RSL. Once submitted, we will wait for the results as we have done in the past but this digital solution shows commitment by us and RSL in providing the most accessible exam experience possible.
Your first port of call is to do your homework; I have set this for the remainder of the week.
Record your video and send it to us by WeTransfer to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Sunday 19th April 2020
You must have a member of your family record you playing just ONE song in performance mode. The video must meet the following criteria:
⮚ We must be able to see your face clearly and the musical instrument you are playing, with good lighting conditions. Drummers, you must first introduce yourself and then have the camera moved into position; we must be able to see the entire kit.
⮚ The sound must be reasonably clear with no background noise or distortion.
⮚ The recordings must not be interrupted by editing; all recordings must be continuous. If you make a mistake in a piece you can restart as long as you are not more than 1/3 of the way through. You can restart up to one piece and two technical exercises in your Graded Certificate.
Your tutor will provide feedback during your lesson commencing Monday 20th April 2020.
Get stuck in and good luck to all of you.
Stay home, stay safe and support the NHS.
